Anxiety – The Movie

ANXIETY

One of the things I’ve been talking to a lot of people about and obviously also having dealt with it myself, is anxiety.
Not only dealing with anxiety, but responding to anxiety or even better not responding to anxiety.

Here’s what I mean, when you are creating unnecessary anxiety in your life, regardless of what you have chosen to be anxious about, it’s like your brain wants to recognise something and decides to attach to it.
I call it anxiety ahead of time, worrying about something that could or might happen, and anticipating the anxiety about it.

You’re actually feeling anxiety, because you’re anticipating something will go wrong, or you will do something you don’t want to do, or the situation will worsen. You’re writing your own outcome and reacting to something that may play out in a totally different way than what you are creating in your mind.

It doesn’t matter what it is, you start thinking about it ahead of time and you start building up your own anxiety.
And this literally happens to those of us that are anxiety producers, sort or anxiety manufacturers.

It’s almost like our brain says, “Time to go to work and create anxiety. That’s my job today.
And it doesn’t matter what it is, it will start attaching itself to something in the now or the future will create a story about the situation, ultimately creating anxiety.

Once you know this is what your brain loves to do, you will be able to observe it without getting too attached to it, and without acting on it.
So as soon as you feel that and you’re aware of that, pay attention, observe it and then you will know your brain is actually manufacturing anxiety with thoughts you are having. When you start thinking of it as a manufacturing line and imagine that is your brain, thought after thought after thought, with one goal, producing anxiety.

So whatever you’re thinking or anticipating, that you feel uncomfortable about your brain say’s , that’s the perfect ingredient for me to produce anxiety. And now fear and anxiety set in and we freak out.
Awareness of your thoughts and the knowing that you don’t have to respond to them, is the beginning to a more peaceful life.
